5:30 am is too early for flirtin'

Oy, I have too much energy for 9:30 pm, and I need to go to bed NOW in order to get up at 4:30 am to get to work at 5:30 am. I'm still packing and trying to get my brain organized for my little trip to ptown and the eug. I just let Rosie rip all the stuffing out of one of my favorites of her toys, just because it kept her occupied. I'm jonesin' for a road trip.....lucky for me I'm going on a little one after work tomorrow. watch out Portland, i'm coming to sit on Pulpshopgirl's couch and KNIT!
Well there are a few good things about having to work absurdly early. One, it's coffee, so I can be deliriously caffeinated to keep me going through the shift. Two, I get done so early it's practically a day off. Three, I am pretty sure Odwalla boy delivers on Wednesday mornings, and he's REAL cute. we trade juice for espresso.......unfortunately it's really hard to feel cute and try to make interesting conversation that early in the morning.

Skull baby hats!

doing something doing nothing

Wow, sometimes what I really need, even though I don't know it, is a heaping helping of reality television! I spent most of today holed up in anatomists room, knitting and watching tv. The Project Runway marathon was amazing. I'm rooting for Daniel to win. Anatomist dubbed him my boyfriend, I think because he wears lots of argyle and has that shaggy brit pop boy look. But he's also a good designer and deserves to win. Also, the finale of Dancing with the Stars was on. I was shocked and appalled that Stacey came in 3rd. I mean, C'mon people, Jery Rice is just not nearly as good of a dancer as Stacey. She can really shake her can! The other thing about Stacey is that on DWTS she seems really really NICE! She's such a bitchy bimbo on WWE. But I am happy that Drew and Cheryl won. I would have been REALLY upset if Jerry Rice had won the whole thing. Drew and Cheryl were really good.
Rosie had a good day today too. We met the neighbor basenji Zeus. He was running free, and we ended up helping his parents lure him back into the backyard. I think he and Rosie could be buddies, because he was smaller than her but she didn't try to eat him. They actually played a little bit. I see why my mom thinks Rosie could have some Basenji in her. She has really similar coloring, and her weird curly tail. We also went on a nice walk to the knit shop, and then she got to play all afternoon and evening with Finn and Syd at Anatomists. I'd say it was a successful sunday for the both of us.

Knitting ROCKS!

I have some really awesome friends. Today, the prize goes to Andie. Hell, she probably desrves it for the whole MONTH. She said she's going to knit me this hat! Oh yeah, skull and crossbones, only for me it will be PINK and black! (and now you really have to do it too, cause i told the whole world! ha ha! or at least the three people that read my blog.) Yep. I'm really excited, and I feel very loved.

Snowy morning...

It was snowy when I woke up this morning. I grabbed the ol' Holga and shot some pics before work. It was actually really pretty. I'm not the biggest fan of snow, unless I can drive to it and stay inside when I want. I don't like having to go out and go to work in it. Especially driving, because when it snows places where it doesn't snow often people don't know how to drive in it and it gets scary. But today enjoyed it. I really liked walking in it, and I made it to work ok.

I received news this morning that my friends the Black-Peetzes or Peetz-Blacks or whatever they are now are expecting! Amy's got a bun in the oven! I'm very excited for them, and now I have more baby knitting projects to work on.

I'm strangely jealous of all my friends that are having babies. Even though I am quite happy being single and being the single mother of a dog, everybody having babies makes me want babies. I'm so far from being in a place where it would even be a plausible course of action it just seems absurd. But I still want them. Anatomist sympathizes with me, and we decided that when we do have babies we should have them at the same time. Then we can make baby stuff for each others babies.

Sick of being Sick

Ugh, I've been sick for almost 2 weeks! This is ridiculous. I thought it was just going to be a cold that would go away. But now I'm afraid its turning into a sinus infection. I had way too many of those last spring.
Lucky for me I had today off. Sometimes it's great to stay in bed just because you can. It's especially great when you feel like shit. I did get up eventually. I took Rosie for a walk, which didn't go well. She pulled me over a ditch, the first time I was relatively unscathed thanks to a mighty skillful leap and a miraculous landing. The second time I hit the ground, and I hit it kind of hard. Of course the whole thing was witnessed by the neighbor. He asked if I was having fun, right before the second and failed leap. and I WAS having fun until that.
The walk was cut short, and I returned to my lovely and warm apartment to play on the internet, organize stuff, and knit. I finished a baby hat for raven and jakes unborn, though it's kind of big and may be more of a toddler hat. It was my first attempt at intarsia, (doing a design in a different color) and i think it turned out pretty good!
I finished it while watching "Dancing with the Stars". I really couldn't decide whether to vote for Stacey Keibler and Tony or Drew Lachey and Cheryl....so I didn't vote.

Me, by Andie!

Here goes nothin'....

Well, I did it. I started a blog. I blame anatomist and kungfuramone mostly, and andie a little bit too.

So this is it. I'm living in a new place, have new jobs, new friends, and now a new blog. I had a really funny experience on my first day of my new photo job. This guy came in, I was helping him with some stuff and was doing some small photos for him, head shot id style. He was kind of cute, really nice, funny guy. We were chatting and I couldn't answer all his questions, so I told him I was new. So it came up that I had recently moved up here. He asked if I had been having a hard time meeting people. I told him I already had friends up here, so that helped. It was hard at first but I've been meeting people and making new friends lately, so it's gotten better. I totally thought he was going to ask me out or something, when he says "Well there's this church by the Ballard bridge you should go to." And he starts going into detail about where this church is. That was so totally not what I expected him to say, I was literally speechless. I didn't know how to respond! All I could think to say was, "Yeah, I know where the bridge is."
