Back in the Oregon

in Eugene staying at my parents again....AL and I signed the lease agreement and gave the money for our new home! We are moving in on Oct 1st so we have a week between times. we will be spending it in eugene at my parents house, where the living is easy.
our trailer trip was fabulous! Yellowstone is AWESOME! i will try to post pictures soon. we saw a GRRRZZZLY bear! and buffaloes and elks and deer and scary dog eating coyotes in our campground. we also saw many geysers, fumaroles, mudpots, thermal pools, bacterial mats, and other evidence of volcanic action. that area gets a lot of volcanic action. It was amazing, and the airstream was uber comfy. even when it SNOWED! it snowed on us quite a bit.
For this week i have many less exciting things planned, like cleaning out my dads shed where i have a whole bunch of mystery boxes from when i moved last october. and we might help my mom do some painting. i'm trying to get my dad to take us rafting. we are goign to go through my moms fabric stock piles and old patterns. and soon we will be moving into our new house and i will have to find a new job and i can pick up my new bike and decide what to do about my screwed up deposit refund from my last landlords.......ugh. i wish it did not plague my brain as much as it does.

Me and Norma the Airstream

Luke drivin in idaho

We're on our way to Grand Teton NP. Yesterday was a long driving day, we went from hood river OR to twin falls ID where we slept in the trailer at a rest stop. Luke is a driving MACHINE! He's still at it. I just sit in the back with Rosie. I think she likes it that way. I like it too.

Making lunch in the trailer.

We are in Idaho today. We went to Craters of the Moon! That sure is a lot of lava! It was pretty cool. We hiked around a cave and in a lava tube.

Productivity

Yesterday was a better day, my mood was on the upswing and I was highly productive. AL and I may have a great housing situation lined up, we'll see how it works out. I dropped off a resume at the new Peet's on Hawthorne that is opening monday. I also dropped off an application and a resume at the REI, and they are having a hiring fair in october. I went to the bike store and talked to a nice girl there about ordering the bike I want, and am going back today to figure out the size. I also called my old landlord and gave him a week to give me the money he owes me or I'm filing with small claims. Oh and I did call about the crazy nephew and told the lady I did not want to get involved and did not feel comfortable talking to him. In my experience in situations like that any contact is taken as encouragement. Whew! I also went to Portland Wrestling with SS&C. It was an experience. It was in the armory, which was creepy enough. and these were some real hillbilly wrasslin' fans kinda folks. it was a strange scene, and a very long show. with no booze. we all felt kind of dumber after being there for so long.
Today Pulpshopgirl and her betrothed and I may leave on our trailer trip. destination: Yellowstone. But we'll be pleased if we just get out of town and sleep in the trailer somewhere. Our game plan is to head east on the 84, go north through grand teton and into yellowstone through the southern entrance. then we can drive through the park and exit out the north entrance and head back through montana. We've never been there before so if anyone has advice give me some. I've got to check Wal-Mart locations on our route as back up sleeping spots. though every backwater has a wal-mart so i'm not too worried.

a touch of the stress

Well, i'm in Ptown househunting. This endeavor can be frustrating but we have a few to look at and I'm holding out hope that something fabulous will come along. Now the crappy thing about renting is sometimes your landlords kind of, shall we say for lack of a better term "screw you." It looks like I may have to take my landlords to small claims court for not refunding my deposit on time or entirely and yadda yadda yadda. on top of this un-funstuff I got a very strange message from an unknown woman who is related in some way to my landlords and their um, shall we say this time, "mentally off" nephew. I met the nephew a couple of times when I was moving out and there was one night he decided to knock on my door at 4 am which was fun. My mom and my sister, not to mention Rosie, really appreciated that one. Anyway, this woman has asked me to call her so I can talk to the nephew to tell him that we are not in a relationship. evidently he is having a mental breakdown, is delusional and thinks I'm his girlfriend. Wow. my life. wow.

is there no love in this world?

So word 'round the campfire is that Whitney Houston has filed for divorce from Bobby Brown. It's tragic. I thought they were forever. This is almost as bad or worse than the Nick and Jessica split. I don't want to relive that pain.

I'm back, beyotches!

well, kind of...at least right now. haven't been posting much 'cuz my sister stole the wireless router at my parents house. Right now I'm at my sisters. i can finally post a few pics from my computer. totally out of order, but they're fun anyway.

drunken Razr scooter adventures:
we got dropped off downtown by my dad with the Razr scooters. We Razrd all the way back to my parents house, about 3 miles I think.

Here's AL carrying Rosie up big obsidian flow at Newberry crater.

Happy Larson pirates

Angry Larson pirates

Dance party in the kitchen at Pulpshopgirl's

so, whats the haps? AL and I have been lounging around at my parents house. We helped my mom shampoo the carpets yesterday and then we went kayaking, and we've been watching lots of Buffy 'cuz we finally got AL started on it. Today we are going to help Aubry dread her hair while we watch some more Buffy. Tomorrow we are going to Portland to look for houses. House hunting sucks ass.

Gettin' camping supplies at ray's. Its hot. I love it. We patched the boats but gave up on the deschutes. We're heading to sparks lake for some major camping.

Rosie was napping on the bed @ Spencer's. We are a bit tired and sore from hiking. I have to go buy a pump so we can float the deschutes. The one i had disappeared. I am not willing to accept no boating.

I luv my car

Big news: I got my car back! and it wasn't as expensive as I feared. I love my car. It's so nice to be driving it again. I love that its fast. I love that it's a stick. I love the way the engine purs......*sigh*
I was trying to post a whole bunch of pictures from the last few weeks. They tried to restore my pictures when my memory card crapped out, and I have them on CD and can view them on my computer but when I tried to upload them to blogger they were all a great big mess. so no photo story yet.....
and its been forever since I posted.....
AL left today to go back down to Santa Rosa with her sis. I'm leaving today to go on another camping adventure. My dad, mom, 2 of the 3 brothers, Rosie and I are going to hike Black Butte tomorrow for my dad's birthday. Then we are going to swim in the pool at Black Butte Ranch and have a big birthday dinner after. After dinner I'm meeting up with Big D, Aaron and Allison at Spencer's house in Bend. We might go to Fort Rock on Monday, then go camping. I'm thinking we might camp at Spark's lake and Soda Creek in off the Cascade Highway. I'm going to try to switch cars with my parents so we can steal their kayaks when they come back home. I'm bringing some inflatable rafts though in case that swap doesn't work out.
I've been trying to "get stuff done" today but I'm doing so much at once and I drank too much coffee so it's coming together in a very scattered and inefficient fashion. I am sending a letter to my landlords in Seattle because it has been 6 weeks since I moved out and they still have not sent me my deposit. according to Washington State law they have to send me the whole thing if they don't return it in 14 days. so basically my letter says "send me my deposit so I don't have to sue you"
also I had to pay 2 months of student loans because my automatic debit thing has evidently not gone through yet. oops. my bad.
I'm also sending a thank you note to my mechanic guy at the VW dealership because he was so great and so nice through my whole car debacle.
and I have to figure out the warranty for my memory card 'cause it's kaput at this point. no worky no more.
So I had better get to it. I really gotta get packing.......
