well, looks like I messed up. So Rosies collar part of her training collar is totally water proof, but it turns out the remote part is NOT. meaning: you can't swim with it on for 20 minutes. it stopped working when Khya and I were out swimming with Rosie. I called customer support, they said "its water proof....up to a point." ha ha....i found that point. i was under the impression it was totally water proof. i'm trying not to feel too dumb about this, but i kind of do. anyway, it is under warranty and even though it isn't techinically a warranty issue thay are going to fix it for me for free. hallelujah and praise jebus! but i had to ups it to Tucson AZ, and because of the fourth of july it won't get there until thursday. they said it would take about a week to repair it. I am apprehensive about being collar-less for 2 whole weeks. I'm going to go check out the return policies on the training collars at the pet-co......and i must devise a way to keep the remote dry when it returns to me.
also i am going to get rosie a doggie life vest. we went to the pet store before swimming yesterday to get one, but they didn't have one in her size. totally out of mediums. and I thought "well if my dog drowns today i'm going to blame you." like ha ha just kidding. then we were way out swimming around in the middle of the lake, and rosie was doing fine just swimming back and forth between khya and I. then she started to shake, like the kind of shake dogs do to shake the water off of themselves. It appeared she was trying to shake off the whole lake! But while doing so she stopped the doggie paddling that was keeping her afloat and she sank. not entirely under, but pretty damn close. her nose and face were still poking up but she just kept doing the crazy shake thing until i grabbed her. I pulled her up and started swimming in and dragged her for a minute before she started swimming again. then I swam hard into shore. all the adrenaline and swimming made me really wheezy. It was very scary.

awsum and awsum
evil cat brought me a present today! it is amazing.
when you walk by it it says things like "and thats the bottome line, cause Stone Cold said so!" and then something else about "I'll give you something to cry about" its hilarious. evidently you can record things for him to say also, and I think his eyes are supposed to follow you but that feature doesn't seem to work anymore.
in other good news: my photos were recovered from my memory card. yay! not all of them were recoverable, and some are half-there. But at least I got some of them, and the memory card works again. here are some green room highlights from the wrasslin' match:
I don't know if you can tell in the tiny pictures, but DAMN we are wearing a lot of makeup. and major amounts of glitter.

first official official day of summer
yesterday may have been the first day of summer, but today FELT like the first day of summer. short shorts and tank tops. I managed to recruit Khya and 68 monkeys to accompany Rosie and I to the dog park at Magnuson Park. the only place in the city where doggies can swim. it was our first experience with the collar and the dog park. it was incredibly successful! I'm so excited. I have an obedient dog! she still tried to herd the doggies, and barked and growled, but the most important thing is that she would come when I called her! away from the altercations. it's so unbelievably fantastic.

wrasslin', modelin' and sleepin'
The match was a huge success. I am quite relieved its over, but it was tons of fun. I really did not anticipate the audience reaction. At first we were cheered during our entrance, but once we were in the ring and the announcers were discussing our bios and our ridiculously expensive and pampered dog, "Sparkle", the crowd HATED us. It was fantastic. It's never felt so good to be so hated. The Beer Barians came out and were cheered like crazy. It was quite funny. Of course the crowd is going to love the Beer guzzling metal team. It just never occurred to me it would go down like that. We totally became the heels. The match started off with the Beer Barians grabbing Sparkle from Xtina, (Sparkle was actually a small stuffed dog with a great big blood packet in its head) and smashing his head in with their giant hammer. They then smeared the blood on themselves and threw Sparkle in the audience while we screamed. The grappling then ensued, we forgot a lot of our match, but we winged it pretty well. No one could tell at least. The Pop RoXXX won, I got Sveah with a schoolboy pin. Then she hit me in the back with a chair and our announcer said "Steel Chair! Very Unforgiving!" just as i requested.
I was shooting pictures all evening with my digital camera, but the memory card totally crapped out on me. I'm really bummed. I had a lot of great green room pics. I'm going to see if they can be recovered, but I don't have a lot of hope. That photo restoration software never seems to work. But I think it is the memory card, and the camera seems to be ok so that's good I guess.
This morning I was an underwear model with Khya and a bunch of other girls. We modeled underwear in a park. It was hilarious. It was for a local girls handmade lingerie company that she's starting. I'll post a link when the website is up. The whole experience was pretty funny. We were in Kerry park in Queen Anne, the park seemed to be a popular spot and we got a few onlookers. Some were ok and just seemed curious, but some were definitely creeps. My favorite though was the entire tour bus of elderly people.
I already wasn't feeling good though, and I think hanging out in my underwear in the cold wasn't the best idea. Now I'm feeling really sick. I'm also a little freaked out, because one of the Beer Barians has strep. I really hope I don't have strep. I went back to bed and slept for 5 hours this afternoon. My throat hurts like hell. I'm going to see if I can enlist someone to come over and make me soup. It's taking too much effort even to be sitting at the computer.
but even being sick, my life rules. "What'd you do in Seattle?" oh, I became a wrestler and an underwear model.

my ass is broke
I don't mean that in the financial sense, though that also applies. I mean it in the "I hurt my coccyx" sense. I hurt it real bad before the Re-bar show. It's still flaring up. I just had practice and landed on it more than a few times. Every ddt, clothesline and monkey flip (all my favorite moves!) I land on my damn ass and it hurts like a son of a bitch! so now I'm sitting on an ice pack, eating ibuprofen, and editing the write up of our match. I have to print it out to take to the next practice in an hour. where I will probably have to land on my broken coccyx. There's practice tonight, dress rehearsal tomorrow night, the show on friday night, and then its over! unless we end up wrestling in vegas, but that won't be 'til late July anyway. my coccyx needs time to heal.
here I am in my hawt between-practices outfit.
It's a look. complete with ice pack accessory!

Scotch Whisky
I went to the liquor store this evening to buy myself a whisky treat. i decided to try something new, instead of going with my old standby's Drambuie or Makers Mark. I picked Bowmore. I chose it because it was made on Islay. Which is close to Jura.
Heres what Wikipedia has to say about Islay
Islay (pronounced [ˈaɪlə]; in Gaelic Ìle [ˈiːʎə] or ee-lya) is a Scottish island, known as 'The Queen of the Hebrides,' is the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides. It lies in Argyll just to the west of Jura and around 25 miles north of the Irish coast. On a clear day the Northern Irish coast can be seen clearly. The island's capital is Bowmore, famous for its distillery and distinctive round Kilarrow Parish Church. Port Ellen is the second largest settlement.
Islay has just over three thousand inhabitants. It has a total area of just over 600 square kilometres. Its main industries are malt whisky distilling, and tourism largely based on whisky and birdwatching.
I bought the Bowmore because the Oban whisky was too expensive, and they didn't have any Jura whisky. I was feeling kind of lonely, and a little homesick for Scotland. Jura is where my grandma grew up, and her sister (my second aunt?) lives in Oban. I want to go back to Scotland. I miss my family there. and I want to spend more time on Jura.
heres what Wikipedia says about Jura
Jura (Scottish Gaelic Diùra) is a Scottish island, in the Inner Hebrides. It lies just to the north of Islay. 'Diùrach' is the Gaelic name for a native of the island. In English this would be spelt 'Jurach'. However, there is no letter 'J' in Scottish Gaelic; "d" takes the sound of "j" when followed by a front vowel (e or i). Jura is designated as a National Scenic Area.
It is of a similar size to Islay, but is much less densely populated with around 160 inhabitants. The main settlement is at Craighouse [Taigh na Creige] on the east coast. The village of Craighouse is home to the island's one distillery, which makes Isle of Jura whisky. The village is also home to the island's only hotel, pub, shop and church.
A small car ferry operates across the Sound of Islay between Port Askaig on Islay and Feolin Ferry on Jura. From Feolin Ferry a single road follows the southern and eastern coastline of the island. To the north of Craighouse the road leads to Lagg, Tarbert, Ardlussa and beyond. A private track runs from the road end to the far north of the island.
The island is dominated by three steep-sided conical mountains on its western side – the Paps of Jura which rise to over 2500 feet (762 m). The west coast of Jura is currently uninhabited but is home to a number of raised beaches.
Past the road end is Barnhill [Cnoc an t-Sabhail], a remote house which was home to the novelist George Orwell, and where he wrote Nineteen Eighty-Four.
Between the northern tip of Jura and the Island of Scarba [Sgarba] lies the Gulf of Corryvreckan [Coire Bhreacain] which boasts a whirlpool that makes passage impossible at certain states of the tide.
The island has a large population of red deer and it is commonly believed that the name Jura was derived from “hjörtr", the Norse word for deer.

what do you do when.....
Your land lord tells you that he forgot to tell you what you were supposed to be paying for utilities over the past 5 months, and you now owe him about $400 in past due utilities.......you don't have any money and are desperately trying to save some to move out and take some time off.......oh yeah and you JUST quit one of your jobs earlier that afternoon. What do you do? you eat an ice cream sandwich, take a bath, and go to bed at 8:30. even though its still light out.
G'nite.
G'nite.
we ROCKED that hizzzouse
The match at Re-bar went off SPLENDIDLY! We hit it. It was awesome. every move we did was better than we had EVER done it at practice. and it was easy! well, it was physically strenuous, but once we were out there verything went so smooth, and went so fast! but it was so awesome. I mean, DAMN we were GOOD! We blew the roof off that joint. Anatomist taped it......I can't wait to watch it!

Wrassling tonight......
Oh boy.....our first match is tonight! Pop Roxxx vs. Westward Ho's at the SSP Pajama jammy jam at the Re-Bar. Yes, i said pajama jammy jam! I have to admit....I'm a wee bit nervous. trying not to get that barfy feeling. but it'll be fine, it'll be fine!
so the photo's turned out all right. But it looks like i sprained my wrist doing the shoot. I guess its bound to happen when you hold a camera for nearly 5 hours, after having not taken pictures for a long long time. So I'm all taped up and have been alternating between the blue gel ice pack and the bag of frozen peas. Oh the irony of injuring myself more severely shooting pictures for wrestling than actually wrestling....... and now I have been rendered fairly useless as a barista. Trying to steam milk and pull shots with one right hand was interesting. so i was forced to take today off, which is a blessing in its way but I hate it when i can't work. and its not like i can catch up on my knitting......no knitting allowed with a bunk wrist.
anyway, here are a few of the headshots that are going to be in the program for the Showbox show
Beer Barians
Throttle Rockets
Westward Ho's
Tsunami Sisters

Yesterday anatomist and I drove down to Portland for Raven's baby shower. So many babies and pregnant ladies! it was lots of fun. I got to fondle some pregnant bellies. My friends are so beautiful and it was so nice of them to let me continually molest their bellies. i just can't keep my hands off those baby bellies!
here's me lovin' on Amy's belly (she's got even better pics of me molesting her belly)

The Charlatans
I LOVE this band, and have for a long long time. I heard they were playing here, and kind of didn't believe it. because for one, they must suck by now, and i didn't want to ruin the illusion and be disappointed. Also I just couldn't go because we had wrestling practice and I have to work at 7 am. But then therese called and said she was cancelling practice and going to the Showbox. I said I was desperately jealous, because I <3 <3 <3 the Charlatans. So then I texted Ajit, and asked him if he was going. he didn't even know they were playing! so together we decided we must go. In the end, I saw the Charlatans. and it was good. oh, so very very good!
